Credit card exposure increased to $1,474.3 billion at June 30, 2026 from $1,425.6 billion at December 31, 2025, including retained loans of $249.9 billion. Credit card loan growth reflected new accounts, partly offset by seasonally higher balances at year-end. The 30-plus-day delinquency rate declined to 1.91% from 2.16%, and the 90-plus-day rate declined to 1.00% from 1.10%, indicating improved credit performance. Credit card net charge-offs increased to $2.0 billion in the second quarter from $1.9 billion, while the charge-off rate decreased to 3.33% from 3.40% as average retained loans increased to $243.6 billion.
