Cash and cash equivalents decreased to $5.3 billion as of March 31, 2026 from $7.3 billion as of December 31, 2025. Lilly held total investments of $3.3 billion as of March 31, 2026 and had approximately $850 million of unfunded commitments to invest in venture capital funds, payable over up to 10 years. The company also reported $10.1 billion of unused committed bank credit facilities (with $10.0 billion available to support the commercial paper program) to support short-term funding. Management believes available cash, operating cash flow, and borrowing access are sufficient to fund existing and planned capital requirements, but notes near-term capex has increased for manufacturing expansion.
