As of March 31, 2026 Mastercard had $8.2 billion of cash, cash equivalents and investments (down from $10.9 billion at December 31, 2025) and generated $3.0 billion of net cash from operating activities in Q1 2026. The company notes restricted cash and restricted security deposits held for customers of $2.9 billion at March 31, 2026 and states that existing liquidity, operating cash flow and access to capital are believed sufficient to meet operating needs, capex, commitments and potential obligations including litigation and settlement exposure. Mastercard warns that global credit market conditions or legal/regulatory outcomes could negatively impact liquidity and refers to settlement guarantee exposures described in Note 15.
