McDonald’s plans approximately $8.5 billion of franchisee support through 2036 to modernize restaurants, upgrade equipment, deploy technology and improve operating execution. About $5 billion is expected through 2030, including $1.5 billion to $2 billion of additional capital support for accelerated restaurant upgrades from 2027 to 2030. The program is intended to generate roughly 250 basis points of restaurant-level efficiency gains and improve franchisee cash flow. Restaurant modernization includes employee training, hospitality improvements and technology-enabled operational changes across the system.
