Medtronic and Sonus Microsystems are integrating the Sonus Patch, an AI-powered wearable ultrasound platform, with Medtronic’s vital-sign monitoring technology. The partners plan field studies in Kenya focused on screening and triaging pregnant women at risk of early-onset preeclampsia. Funded by the Gates Foundation, the initiative is intended to expand access to clinical-grade ultrasound and cardiac monitoring through non-specialist users in low- and middle-income countries.
