The American Medical Association approved permanent Category I CPT codes for Medtronic’s Altaviva implantable tibial neuromodulation device and Symplicity Spyral renal denervation system. The codes address urge urinary incontinence and uncontrolled hypertension, respectively. The new codes replace existing Category III codes and become effective in January 2028. The approvals are expected to support reimbursement and patient access for both technologies.
