MetLife’s board approved a new $3.0 billion authorization to repurchase common stock. The authorization is incremental to approximately $400 million remaining under the prior program announced in April 2025. From April 1 through August 5, 2026, MetLife repurchased 11,209,978 shares for $944.51 million, bringing cumulative repurchases under the prior plan to 33,111,404 shares costing $2.631 billion. MetLife returned more than $1.1 billion to shareholders through share repurchases and common-stock dividends during the second quarter, including a quarterly dividend of $0.5925 per share.
