Litigation and Legal Risk

ALTRIA GROUP, INC. · 2026-07-30 · Importance 47 · Surprise 60 · In source text

NJOY ACE is subject to U.S. ITC exclusion and cease-and-desist orders prohibiting its importation and sale, while JUUL has asserted patent infringement claims based on NJOY Daily sales in the United States. Altria also settled in October 2025 a California federal lawsuit against manufacturers, distributors and retailers of illicit e-vapor products. The settlement prohibits a foreign manufacturer and certain domestic distributors from selling or shipping flavored disposable e-vapor products to California consumers and trade partners, or to anyone known to resell them in California. These proceedings may restrict product distribution and create legal, compliance and commercial costs.
