We Energies said Microsoft will not be bound by geographic restrictions in a 15-year power contract for its Mount Pleasant data center when those terms conflict with Wisconsin Public Service Commission requirements. The PSC previously rejected provisions that would have limited Microsoft’s access to wind energy generated outside Wisconsin. The contractual inconsistency has prompted questions from consumer advocates about the signing of outdated provisions.
