Liquidity and Cash Position

MICROSOFT CORP · 2026-10-28 · Importance 38 · Surprise 24 · Matches filing data

Cash, cash equivalents, and short-term investments totaled $64.5 billion at September 30, 2026, down from $76.8 billion at June 30, 2026; equity and other investments totaled $37.8 billion. Cash from operations increased $12.9 billion to $58.0 billion for the quarter, primarily due to more cash received from customers and lower income-tax payments, partly offset by higher supplier payments. Cash used in investing increased $7.4 billion to $42.0 billion, including a $20.0 billion increase in additions to property and equipment and a $6.7 billion increase in other investing cash use, primarily to facilitate component purchases. Microsoft said existing liquidity, operating cash flows, and capital-markets access would be sufficient to fund commitments for at least the next 12 months and thereafter for the foreseeable future.
