Q2 selling, general and administrative expense increased to $496 million from $450 million, while its ratio to sales decreased to 15.8% from 16.3%. Research and development expense rose 13% to $260 million from $231 million, remaining approximately stable at 8.3% of sales versus 8.4%. Intangible amortization increased to $95 million from $39 million, or 3.0% of sales versus 1.4%, primarily reflecting acquisition-related intangible assets. Q2 reorganization charges were $15 million, compared with $14 million in the prior-year quarter.
