Consolidated six-month other operating expenses increased $260.8 million, or 17.0%, to $1,795.4 million, while total operating expenses increased $214.3 million to $2,658.2 million. Columbia Operations recorded $52.9 million of higher operation and maintenance expense, including $11.3 million of outside services and $2.7 million of employee and administrative costs, plus $32.4 million of higher depreciation and amortization. NIPSCO Operations recorded $78.8 million of higher operation and maintenance expense and $77.7 million of higher depreciation and amortization, including $30.5 million of workplace-continuity costs and $16.8 million of higher outside services.
