GenCo is advancing a new combined-cycle natural gas-fired generation facility to support the ADS Contract, with engineering, procurement and planning underway and initial civil site work mobilized in June 2026. Construction is expected to begin in the third quarter of 2026, and the CCGT equipment supply contract remains on its planned delivery schedule. GenCo is also developing combined 400 MW and 100 MW battery energy storage installations, with the battery equipment contract awarded in February 2026 and on-site construction anticipated to start in the third quarter of 2026. NIPSCO is concurrently constructing a 400 MW natural gas peaking facility expected to support retirement of existing vintage gas peakers by the end of 2028.
