Alibaba unveiled its Zhenwu V900 AI chip as a domestic alternative targeting the market opportunity left by NVIDIA in China. The chip is positioned at three times the performance of its predecessor, with mass production and commercial release planned for the first quarter of 2027. Existing Zhenwu chips reportedly serve more than 650 customers, while Alibaba Cloud plans to expand global data-center capacity beyond 20 gigawatts by 2032, increasing competitive pressure on NVIDIA in China and cloud AI infrastructure.
