Fourth-quarter operating expenses increased to $991 million from $917 million, while selling, general and administrative expense increased to $923 million from $870 million. Fiscal-year operating expenses increased to $3.892 billion from $3.736 billion, and selling, general and administrative expense increased to $3.509 billion from $3.301 billion. Dow Jones reported higher employee and technology costs in the fourth quarter and higher employee and marketing costs for the full year. Digital Real Estate Services incurred higher employee costs primarily at Move, higher broker commissions and higher marketing costs for the full year.
