NXP’s Trimension NCJ29D6 ultra-wideband (UWB) family will be deployed across BMW Group’s fleet, beginning with selected 2026 vehicle programs. The single-chip solution combines secure fine-ranging with short-range radar, supporting hands-free digital car access and in-cabin presence detection. The platform enables one UWB system to serve both convenience and safety applications, including detection of occupants left inside vehicles, and is intended to support future safety requirements in Europe and China.
