The Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality notified OG&E in July 2020 that Horseshoe Lake generating units would be included in Oklahoma's second Regional Haze implementation period evaluation for visibility impacts to the Wichita Mountains. OG&E submitted an analysis of potential NOx control measures and the ODEQ submitted a revised SIP to EPA in August 2022; in February 2026 EPA proposed to approve Oklahoma's SIP revision. A 2024 consent decree requires EPA to take final action by December 31, 2026. OG&E stated it is currently unknown what the outcome or any material impacts will be from these evaluations and regulatory actions.
