Operating Cash Flow Trends

O REILLY AUTOMOTIVE INC · 2026-08-07 · Importance 64 · Surprise 56 · In source text

Operating cash flow increased to $2.04 billion in the six months ended June 30, 2026, from $1.51 billion in the prior-year period. Free cash flow increased to $1.48 billion from $904 million after deducting $552 million of capital expenditures and $9.5 million of excess tax benefits. The operating-cash-flow increase primarily reflected timing of payments for transferable federal renewable-energy tax credits and higher operating income. A prepaid income-tax position partially offset the improvement compared with the prior-year net taxes-payable position.
