O’Reilly’s automotive aftermarket demand is supported by approximately three trillion U.S. vehicle miles driven annually; miles driven increased 0.8% year to date through May 2026. The U.S. light-vehicle fleet reached 289 million vehicles at the end of 2025, up 12.3% from 2015, while average vehicle age increased 11.3% to 12.8 years. Older, out-of-warranty vehicles require more routine maintenance and experience more mechanical failures, supporting demand for aftermarket parts. For the six months ended June 30, 2026, comparable store sales increased 7.0%, driven by higher average ticket values for both professional service providers and DIY customers and increased professional-customer transaction counts, partly offset by lower DIY transaction counts.
