Regulatory Risk
PFIZER INC · 2026-08-04 · Importance 37 · Surprise 42
Pfizer continues to monitor U.S. implementation of the Inflation Reduction Act, including the Medicare Drug Price Negotiation Program and government-set Maximum Fair Prices. The MFP for Eliquis became effective January 1, 2026, while negotiated prices for Ibrance and Xtandi become effective in 2027; Xeljanz remains selected through 2028 but will not receive an MFP because CMS determined bona fide generic marketing exists. Pfizer also stated that changes to Medicaid rebates or the 340B Program could materially affect its business, while it does not expect an incremental 2026 impact from the Medicare Part D redesign versus the 2025 baseline.
