Net Income and Profitability

PINNACLE WEST CAPITAL CORP · 2026-08-04 · Importance 14 · Surprise 14 · No source text

Second-quarter 2026 net income attributable to common shareholders declined 7.3% to $178.6 million from $192.6 million in the second quarter of 2025. Diluted earnings per share decreased to $1.43 from $1.58, while operating income was $305.7 million compared with $307.6 million a year earlier. The approximately $14 million earnings decline was primarily caused by higher interest charges, higher depreciation and amortization, and lower transmission service revenues. Favorable weather, customer growth and usage, lower operations and maintenance expenses, and lower taxes partly offset those pressures.
