PPL has a 51% joint venture, Invitium Energy, LLC, with Blackstone Infrastructure to build and operate generation resources serving Pennsylvania data centers. Invitium has secured sites capable of supporting 8 GW to 14 GW of generation, while PJM has accepted more than 5 GW of interconnection requests and the venture has reservation agreements for more than 5 GW of combined-cycle gas turbines. The turbine capacity represents $12.5 billion to $15.0 billion of potential joint-venture investment through 2032. PPL’s business plan excludes Invitium earnings and capital investments, and the venture will not begin construction or make material commitments until appropriate long-term energy supply agreements or cost-reimbursement arrangements are signed.
