Second-quarter 2026 net income attributable to Prudential Financial increased to $985 million, or $2.80 per common share, from $533 million, or $1.48 per share, in the year-ago quarter. After-tax adjusted operating income rose to $1.438 billion, or $4.08 per share, from $1.284 billion, or $3.58 per share. The current quarter included a $299 million after-tax charge from the annual assumption update and other refinements, compared with a $134 million charge in the prior-year quarter. Net income also included $655 million of pre-tax net realized investment losses and related charges, including $76 million of credit-related losses.
