Prudential Financial reported second-quarter 2026 net income attributable to the company of $985 million, or $2.80 per common share, versus $533 million, or $1.48 per share, in the year-ago quarter. Adjusted operating income rose 14% year over year to approximately $1.4 billion, or $4.08 per share, compared with $3.58 per share a year earlier. Adjusted operating return on average equity was 15.5%, while the quarter included a $299 million after-tax charge from the annual assumption update and other refinements, versus $134 million a year earlier.
