Refining realized margins increased to $4.499 billion, or $24.08 per barrel, in the second quarter from $1.827 billion, or $10.11 per barrel, in the first quarter. Refining pre-tax income increased to $3.062 billion from $208 million sequentially, while total processed inputs rose to 186.860 million barrels from 180.801 million barrels. Crude capacity utilization improved to 96% from 95%, and clean product yield was 86% versus 87% in the prior quarter. Turnaround expense declined to $123 million from $178 million.
