Trade Policy and Tariffs

RTX Corp · 2026-07-23 · Importance 46 · Surprise 42 · In source text

Since February 2025, the U.S. has imposed tariffs on imports from all trading partners, while certain countries have imposed retaliatory tariffs and non-tariff countermeasures on U.S. goods. RTX has paid approximately $0.5 billion in IEEPA tariffs since their inception and has submitted refund claims following the February 2026 Supreme Court ruling and the U.S. Court of International Trade order directing CBP refunds, although only an immaterial amount had been recognized by June 30, 2026. RTX is pursuing exemptions, supply-chain changes, and price increases, but tariff costs and refund timing could materially affect estimates-at-completion, inventory recoverability, contract fulfillment costs, deferred tax assets, intangible assets, goodwill, results of operations, and cash flows.
