SG&A increased to 42.0% of sales in the second quarter of 2026 from 35.7% in the prior-year quarter, and to 41.6% from 36.4% for the first six months. The increase was driven by accrued legal expenses and higher costs associated with separating operations from 3M, partially offset by insurance recoveries. R&D declined to 8.1% of sales from 8.7% in the quarter and to 8.7% from 9.0% for six months. The R&D decrease reflected higher sales before the ERP deployment and higher capitalized software development costs, partially offset by additional Acera acquisition amortization.
