Interest Expense Increase
S&P Global Inc. · 2026-10-28 · Importance 30 · Surprise 40
Net interest expense increased 10% to $87 million in the third quarter of 2026 from $79 million a year earlier. For the first nine months, it rose 14% to $267 million from $233 million. The increases primarily reflected interest on senior notes issued in December 2025 and higher commercial-paper borrowing costs in 2026. Commercial paper borrowings partly financed the company’s 2026 accelerated share repurchase agreements and short-term working-capital requirements.
