Second-quarter operating expenses declined slightly to $54.2 million from $54.5 million sequentially, as water service-related expenses fell $2.7 million to $11.6 million. The sequential decline was partly offset by a $2.6 million increase in depreciation, depletion and amortization expense to $16.6 million. Six-month operating expenses increased 21.2% year over year to $108.7 million from $89.7 million. The year-over-year increase included $6.3 million higher water service-related expenses, $5.0 million higher depreciation and depletion expense, and $4.9 million higher general and administrative expenses.
