GE Appliances will source approximately one-third of the semiconductor chips for products manufactured at its new Louisville, Kentucky, laundry plant from Texas Instruments beginning in 2027. The initiative applies to next-generation connected laundry appliances and is expected to nearly double GE Appliances’ spending with TI. GE Appliances said the arrangement supports its domestic-sourcing and “zero distance” supply-chain strategy by shortening lead times, improving resilience, and using TI’s U.S.-based manufacturing facilities.
