Transport for London granted private-hire vehicle licences to a number of Wayve autonomous all-electric Ford Mustang Mach-E vehicles partnered with Uber. The vehicles use Wayve's AI Driver, cameras and radar, and will operate with a human safety driver able to intervene. Uber and Wayve are preparing supervised autonomous rides in London, with more than 100,000 user sign-ups reported. The London launch provides Uber with an initial major-city deployment for integrating autonomous rides into its existing ride-hailing network.
