Second-quarter income from operations declined 23% year over year to $1.45 billion, and six-month operating income declined 30% to $2.68 billion. The operating-income decline reflected higher sales and marketing, research and development, general and administrative, and operations and support expenses despite only a 3% quarterly and 4% six-month increase in cost of revenue. Mobility Segment Operating Income increased 28% to $1.7 billion in the quarter, primarily because of higher Gross Bookings and an $813 million reduction in Driver payments and incentives. Delivery Segment Operating Income increased 38% to $1.1 billion, while Freight remained loss-making with a $26 million quarterly operating loss.
