CMS’s August 2026 IPPS 2027 final payment rule provides a 3.2% market basket increase to the base Medicare MS-DRG blended rate. After budget-neutrality factors, wage-index updates, coding adjustments, the 0.09% productivity offset, DSH payments and other changes, UHS estimates its overall IPPS payment increase for October 1, 2026 through September 30, 2027 will be approximately 0.1%. The prior IPPS 2026 rule produced an estimated 2.7% overall increase for UHS, including DSH and other adjustments.
