UNITEDHEALTH GROUP INC · 2026-05-05 · Importance 37 · Surprise 6

As of March 31, 2026, UnitedHealth reported total cash, cash equivalents, available-for-sale debt securities and marketable equity securities of $80.0 billion, comprising approximately $28.0 billion of cash and cash equivalents (of which $1.1 billion was available for general corporate use), $50.1 billion of debt securities and $1.9 billion of marketable equity securities. The company also reported $10.3 billion of loan receivables and a debt securities portfolio with a weighted-average duration of 4.1 years and weighted-average credit rating of Double A. UnitedHealth states it believes its capital resources are sufficient to meet future short- and long-term liquidity needs and that given the significant portion of the portfolio held in cash and equivalents it does not anticipate fair value fluctuations materially impacting liquidity or capital position. The company continues to access capital markets as needed and has pending acquisition commitments (~$3.0 billion anticipated capital, expected to close mostly in H2 2026).
