Mexico Freight Growth

UNION PACIFIC CORP · 2026-07-23 · Importance 54 · Surprise 40 · No source text

Freight revenue from shipments to and from Mexico increased 10% to $828 million in the second quarter and 6% to $1.6 billion year to date. Quarterly growth reflected 5% volume growth, led by increased intermodal, finished vehicles, and grain products shipments. Petroleum and grain shipments partially offset the quarterly increase, while lower auto-parts and beverage shipments weighed on the year-to-date period. Mexico shipments therefore represented a broad-based growth opportunity across intermodal, automotive, and agricultural commodities despite weakness in selected industrial and consumer categories.
