Vertex is preparing for a potential launch of povetacicept for IgA nephropathy (IgAN), positioning it as a potentially best-in-class dual inhibitor of BAFF and APRIL cytokines to control B-cell activity. The biologics license application for accelerated approval in adults with IgAN is under FDA priority review, with a target action date of November 30, 2026; if approved, it would be Vertex’s first commercialized nephrology-franchise therapy. Povetacicept is also under accelerated-approval review in Saudi Arabia, where it has received Breakthrough designation. Vertex is building commercialization capabilities in support of the anticipated launch.
