Second-quarter operating costs increased to $853 million from $733 million, up $120 million or 16.4% year over year. Selling, general, and administrative expenses decreased to $392 million from $419 million, a $27 million or 6.4% decline. Six-month operating costs increased to $1,553 million from $1,426 million, while six-month SG&A increased to $819 million from $810 million. Depreciation and amortization declined to $445 million from $541 million in the quarter and to $929 million from $1,063 million for the first six months.
