Second-quarter 2026 R&D expense increased $29.5 million, or 13%, to $248.3 million from $218.8 million. Six-month R&D expense increased $56.1 million, or 13%, to $496.9 million from $440.8 million. The increase in both periods was primarily attributable to higher spending on the selatogrel and cenerimod development programs. Acquired IPR&D expense declined $9.8 million to $0.2 million for the six months, compared with $10.0 million in the prior-year period, because the current-period expense related only to an upfront licensing payment.
