North Carolina Utility Rate Agreement

Walmart joined Duke Energy Progress, the North Carolina Public Staff, and other stakeholders in an agreement addressing the utility’s proposed rate increase in North Carolina. The agreement reduces the proposed increase by more than half, resulting in an average annual increase of 3.4% over two years while permitting infrastructure investment. Duke Energy shareholders will also contribute $10 million to low-income bill assistance and weatherization programs.
