Walmart Inc. · 2026-08-28 · Importance 47 · Surprise 60
Walmart received approximately $2.9 billion in tariff refunds during the quarter ended July 31, 2026, through the U.S. Customs and Border Protection process for refunds of tariffs paid under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act. The refunds were recorded as a reduction to cost of sales and represented substantially all amounts requested by Walmart. Walmart invested a significant portion in customer-focused initiatives, primarily price investment and other cost-mitigation strategies, and expects to prioritize price investment through fiscal 2027.
