Waste Management spent $1.280 billion on capital expenditures in the six months ended June 30, 2026, compared with $1.563 billion in the prior-year period. Capital spending declined $283 million, or 18.1%, primarily because of lower collection-vehicle spending and planned reductions in sustainability-growth investments. Sustainability-growth expenditures declined from $288 million to $136 million as the Company transitioned from peak construction toward harvesting returns from recycling-volume and renewable-natural-gas projects.
