Six-month operating expenses increased 7.9% to $3.134 billion, led by a $176.1 million, or 13.8%, increase in casino expense and a $40.4 million, or 9.5%, increase in food and beverage expense. Wynn Palace casino expense increased $142.9 million, including a $120.6 million increase in gaming tax expense, while Wynn Macau casino expense increased $17.2 million, including a $7.7 million gaming tax increase. Las Vegas food and beverage expense increased $25.7 million because of new offerings, and Macau food and beverage expense increased $14.2 million because of higher cost of sales. Depreciation and amortization increased $17.6 million, or 5.7%, across all properties due to property enhancements and maintenance capital expenditures.
