Xcel Energy's hydroelectric facilities in northern Wisconsin are operating amid extremely low water levels. Extended hot, dry weather and below-average rainfall have reduced water levels in rivers and reservoirs, forcing operational adjustments and exposing hazards near recreational areas. Xcel is coordinating with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources on operations and has warned residents and boaters about access and safety conditions.
