ExxonMobil Moçambique Limitada awarded McDermott Energy Solutions a letter of intent for engineering and procurement services on the Rovuma LNG Phase 1 midstream development in Mozambique. The award follows McDermott’s earlier front-end engineering and design work and advances the project toward a final investment decision expected in 2026. Rovuma LNG is designed to produce 18.6 million metric tons per year, with start-up targeted for 2031. The project would strengthen Mozambique’s position as a major global LNG supplier and expand ExxonMobil’s long-term LNG capacity.
